Bachelor Season 21 Episode 2

I'm really wanting to give Nick a chance as the Bachelor. Like I said last week (read my top picks here), I liked him a lot on Bachelor in Paradise-he kind of redeemed himself in my eyes. I realize we're only 2 episodes into this season, but I have to say so far I'm so not digging him. I mean, Nick, could you possibly seem less interested? He just looks so bored all the time! Except of course when Corinne is taking clothing off or making out with him. This is not helping with your image Nick. And speaking of our villain Corinne-Within the first two minutes of this week's episode I was already super annoyed by the girl, who is so ridiculous I'm not sure I can continue to watch her.

In case you missed this episode, it started out with a date card that said "Always a bridesmaid....". The girls going on the date were Corinne, Vanessa, Sarah, Alexis, Hailey, Lacey, Brittany, Jasmine, Raven, Danielle L., Taylor, and Elizabeth W. Not hard to guess that they were going on some sort of bridal themed photo shoot. They drive off in convertibles, and I just have to mention something. They ALL have their hair down, and NONE of them have a hair elastic. What is the deal with that? I know I'm not the only person to notice this. It happens every season, where they're in a car, or it's super windy, or they're at the beach, and every season it drives me crazy.  Are they not ALLOWED to have hair ties? Did they just forget? I'm so confused. If anyone can explain this to me please do, because it totally drives me bananas.

Back to the date,,,,The girls get different themed wedding or bridesmaids dresses, and whoever has the best chemistry with Nick at the end of the day gets extra time with him or something. Once they all start with their individual shoots I realized I do not remember half of these girls from night one. Provably not a good sign of their longevity on the show.

A few  highlights of the date:

1. Vanessa in her 80's dress totally looked like the dude from the Wedding Singer, right?

2. Corinne's face when Taylor and Nick started kissing.

3. Corinne's face when she realized she did not have the sexiest outfit and therefore was not the center of attention for a few minutes. Priceless.

4. Everyone else's faces when they see Corinne take her top off in the pool. I had the same reaction they did.

Corinne was fuming when Brittany and Nick did their Adam and Eve themed wedding (weird?).
She seriously could not handle it, and was like, OK, I'll just get naked too.
Her parents must be so proud. Here's the thing though- Her antics worked!!! She won and got to have another photo shoot with Nick. Ugh.

For the evening portion of the date they go for cocktails on a rooftop somewhere (of course), and it's no surprise that Corinne is the first to grab Nick for some one-on-one time. Then she decides that wasn't enough time and interrupts Alexis. Not a popular move, but not uncommon. But then later she decides she needs even MORE time, and interrupts Taylor's time. Taylor wasn't having any of that though, and went and cut in on them to get her time back. This is where I just about lost it. Corinne is super mad. She just cannot fathom what just happened. Her actual words were "I interrupted Taylor, then she came and RE-interrupted me." Oh my gosh, does she hear herself? Then she starts referring to herself in third person which I CANNOT STAND. Anyway, it gets really awkward when she goes to rejoin the rest of the girls, and then Nick goes and makes it worse and gives the date's rose to who? CORINNE!!!!! What? I thought it would be Raven based on their on-on-one time. Nick, get it together. This is not OK. Needless to say, the girls were not pleased. To quote Raven, "If Nick likes someone who is leading with their sexuality it's no wonder this is his 4th time". So true. Nick, I am expecting more from you next week.

While all this mess is happening, back at the mansion Liz is annoying me almost (but not quite) as much as Corinne. We get it, you hooked up with Nick already. Let it go. But she had to tell someone about it, so poor Christen had to hear the details over and over again. Also, a date card came for Danielle M. (my fav!) that said "Our relationship is about to take off."

Nick and Danielle's date brings us the first helicopter ride of the season. They spend the day on a yacht, and then later have dinner. I have to admit, halfway through their dinner I was thinking how boring they were together and wasn't optimistic. But Danielle opened up and told Nick about her fiance's passing, and it was super sad, but it did seem to connect them a little. She gets a rose, and they make out on a Ferris wheel. Not all that eventful.

The final group date card arrives at the house and it's for Christen, Josephine, Astrid, Jaimi, Kristina, and Liz. It says "We need to talk...". They go to the Museum of Broken Relationships, which is apparently a place that actually exists, full of weird mementos from people's past relationships. They learn they will be acting out a public breakup scene in front of an audience. Everyone has fun with it and some of them are pretty cute and funny. But then it's Liz's turn.

She gets up and starts telling the actual story of how she and Nick met, reading from notes she wrote down. It's super weird and awkward, and Nick looks CRAZY uncomfortable, and I feel pretty bad for him. At this point none of the other girls have any idea that what Liz is saying all happened in real life, and look way confused. Except, of course, for Christen, who knows everything and was shocked.

Later that night Nick is all paranoid that the girls know his history with Liz and will be upset, but after talking to some of them he starts to relax. Until he has one-on-one time with Christen and finds out Liz has blabbed. He calls Liz out and ends up sending her home, which I think was definitely the way to go. I was super sick of that storyline. I think he should have sent her home night one personally, but I think he was trying to be nice. After she leaves he decides that his best course of action is to be up front and tell the girls everything, and of course it all looks super dramatic and we are left on a cliffhanger wondering how the girls are going to react.

Guess we'll have to wait until next week to see how everything plays out. What are your thoughts on episode 2? Who do you want to get a rose, and who do you want to get sent packing?

My Bachelor Season 21 Top Three Picks

What better excuse to jump back into blogging than the return of  the Bachelor? The timing of the start of this season is perfection. Let's face it, 2016 was a bummer, so I have been anxiously awaiting the new year, and what could be better to start it off than a brand new season of drama-filled, guilty pleasure reality TV? And like I said, it gives me a great reason to stick to a New Year's resolution of mine and start blogging again! "That being said", I realize that Nick Viall is a controversial choice to be the Bachelor, but I'm actually excited to see how the season plays out. I really REALLY didn't like him during Andi's season, and though he was better on Kaitlyn's season, I wasn't a fan. But like so many other people he won me over on Bachelor in Paradise, and now I'm totally rooting for him. Team Nick for sure.

So I just have a real quick post before tonight's new episode. I'm just going to jump right in and give you my impressions of some of the girls that stood out to me. I'm not going to give a full recap or much commentary- next week when they get into the dates I'm sure I'll have more to say. On to the girls...

Rachel from Dallas.
Based on her intro I initially thought she was way too serious, smart and accomplished to go far, but then when she got to have one on one time with Nick I was super surprised! I thought they had good chemistry and really great conversation. I was still caught off guard when she got the first impression rose, but overall I think she'll go far.

Vanessa
I like her. Even though their conversation got awkward at the end before they got interrupted, I think she's going to the end for some reason.

Corinne
Oh Corinne. We have our villian obviously. I just feel bad for her parents......However, the villians are usually around for a good while, so I'm really excited to watch the drama unfold!!!

Jasmine G.
Did anyone else recognize her from that Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders show?

Dolphin Girl
I can't remember her name. But I have to give her credit for staying in that costume all night. It couldn't have been easy to go to the bathroom. Also, she was sticking to her story about it being a dolphin, not a shark, so she's got conviction, But I give her 2 more weeks, tops.

Liz
Oh boy. This one was interesting. The girls he hooked up with at Jade and Tanner's wedding. Scandalous.  First off, you could totally tell he recognized her from the get go, but didn't know how to handle the situation. Then when they finally talked, I have to say I ended up on his side. He raised a very valid point. She admitted HE asked HER for her number, and she declined. If this girl really was interested in him, she has had plenty of time to contact him, but she didn't. It wasn't until there was a chance to be on TV that suddenly she felt the need to see what could happen with them? Fishy....

Danielle M.
This one is the hubby's favorite, and mine too. She's super cute, and he seemed a little nervous around her, which was adorable. I totally thought she was going to get the first impression rose.

Sarah
I cannot for the life of me remember if she even had a conversation with Nick, but I do remember I really liked her hair. Not so much on the dress. But I'm sold on the hair.

My top three are Vanessa, Danielle M., and Rachel, in that order.

So, who did you like from the first night? And who are your picks? It's always so interesting to see if my first impressions are accurate, or if I'm way off on what some of the girls are like, or who he's going to be into. There is always a sleeper that pops up a couple of weeks in that wasn't on anyone's radar. I can't wait to see how this season goes!

Bachelor in Paradise Week 2: My Thoughts

Ashley S. and Dan, Jade and Tanner, Kirk and Carly
Oh Bachelor in Paradise, you just get more and more entertaining! Thank you for bringing the drama - I can't get enough! If you want to hear my highlights from last week go here. Basically this week Ashley I. cried - a lot.

Also, Mikey is delusional, everyone wants to date Tenley, and Joe's an ass. Oh, and Carly is still my favorite. Now you're all caught up! But really, what did y'all think about this week's episodes? I'd love to hear your thoughts! Here's a few of mine, in no particular order...

1. First of all, I am glad Lauren left. Too many tears, and she was bringing her sister down. Then we find out she's apparently someone's mistress? What? OK, so she never should have come on the show. It obviously wasn't a good fit, and apparently she's perfectly fine being the other woman. Go home.

2. Second, why was everyone so excited for Joe to show up? I don't get it. I guess he's supposed to be funny? I didn't see it on the Bachelorette, and I certainly don't see it on Bachelor in Paradise. Looks like I'm not the only one, too! Here's everyone's reaction to Joe's complete awkwardness when he shows up.

So uncomfortable.....
Then he offends Clare after he's been there for like, 5 minutes. Way to go buddy. Then he (kind of?) asks Juelia on his date....To be fair, she kind of volunteers. But it's still weird. It's clear on their date he's not into her, but he's totally leading her on so he can get her rose later, and hopefully meet some other chick he's hoping will show up. Gross Joe. Really not cool. And I have more to say on that subject in a bit.

3. Ashley I. peeing in the ocean was freaking hilarious. So great. But no, I will not post a picture of this. Because ew.

4. Jared asks Clare on a date, and poor Ashley I. melts down again. Again, I just want to hug her. So sad, Mikey's not happy about this situation either. He keeps talking about feeling betrayed and being blindsided. Last week Clare was pretty clear that she wanted to explore and see what else was out there, and it was obvious to everyone (except him) that she was not interested.  I don't know what Mikey heard when she said that, but he is very confused. Get over if Mikey. Anyway,  I definitely don't see Clare and Jared together.

5. EVERYBODY wants to date Tenley! Seriously y'all, what in the world is this girl doing that's just hypnotizing all the guys? It's so funny to watch! Good for her though! I hope she finds someone. But really, she's got JJ, Josh, and Michael all interested in her. I personally saw her with Michael over the other two, but what do I know? Apparently she was more into Josh. She made out with all three of them though! Wonder if Michael or JJ will get a rose from someone else or it this is their last hurrah in paradise? We shall see...
Tenley Sandwich, Michael and Tenley

6. Jared ends up dumping Clare because she's too old for him, and kisses Ashley I. before the rose ceremony! I was so happy! Finally, she gets her guy! I hope it lasts (for a few weeks anyway), and he's not just pulling a Joe and locking down a rose.

7. Back to Joe. Like I said last week, if you're reading this you no doubt already watched the show, so you know what went down and I won't rehash all the details completely. But Joe.....wow. What a totally ass. I'm seriously appaled at how horrible this guy is. He's totally playing Juelia, and what guy does that to a single mom? Gross. Jonathan tried to be a good guy and let her know what was up, and what does he get in return? Man tears. Big time man tears. So not only is Joe playing Juelia, he uses his friendship with Jonathan to manipulate him, and MAKES HIM CRY! Then he's making violent threats, Joe just needs to go. It's really hard to watch him flat out lie over and over. He's terrible. And did I mention gross? Gross.
Gross.
8. I almost forgot to mention Clare's little meltdown at the end of the show. Get over it Clare. What was she even talking about? It made no sense to me. But I had pretty much forgotten Jade was still in paradise, so it nice to see her speak up and remind us of her presence! Did you see her tweet (you can see it here) about being an introvert on a show full of extroverts? I can totally relate Jade! You know, except for the part about being on TV.

Last night ended with a cliffhanger, and we didn't get to see who all the girls gave their roses to. Can't wait until next week!

xo, Summer

P.S. LOVED Asley S. on the after show, and Jonathan seems like such a sweet guy!  Tell me how you're liking Bachelor in Paradise so far!

Bachelor in Paradise

I didn't recap the Bachelorette this season, not because I wasn't into it, because I totally was. I guess I was just busy, and not really feeling like writing on the subject. But the new season of Bachelor in Paradise, well, I can't help it. There's so much to talk about! Did you guys love it as much as I did? So! Much! Drama! I'm not going to do a recap really, because if you're reading this you already watched the show. But I will share my thoughts. And I have so many thoughts! And I don't want to put a lot of negativity out there or be mean. I'll do my best to be nice, but know that in the privacy of my living room the hubs and I do not hold back on the snark. :) So this post is going to be kind of all over the place, but I'll do my best.

Let's start with the beginning, shall we? How incredible was that intro? So amazingly cheesy, it makes me want to be on this show, even though I'm old and married,  just so I can be part of the crazy awesome intro. It was like a cross between Three's Company and the Real Housewives, with a dash of Saved by the Bell. So great! Moving on.

What did y'all think about the wedding? Lacy and Marcus do seem genuinely in love, so I'm happy for them. But how odd to have your wedding with a bunch of randoms you've probably never met before? Weird. Just my opinion. But congratulations to the happy couple, and now everyone else on the show is hopeful it could turn out the same way for them. We will see....

There's an awful lot of guys from Kaitlyn's season on the show, and a lot of girls from Chris' season. And a few people that would be considered ancient in Bachelor years. Yes, I'm referring to Tenley. Although I am older than her, so she is definitely not an "old lady". I already feel bad for her for some reason, and it's only the first week. I have a bad feeling it's not going to end well for poor Tenley, but I don't know why. So then there's some guy Dan that I do not remember AT ALL, but then they said he was from Des' season, so it makes sense why I don't remember him, because I snoozed through that whole season I think. Anyway...Here are my favorites:

1. Carly
LOVE me some Carly. I loved her on Chris' season of the Bachelor, and I still love her. She is so hilarious. I hope she and Kirk work out! If not, I hope she stays on the show for a while, because I love her.

2. Clare

I know, I know. Crazy Clare. But she makes for great television, right? I loved when she was talking to the crab (loved the editing anyway). And she's totally gorgeous, so there's that. But I really don't see her with any of these guys. Hopefully she'll stick around for a while too, and stir the pot a bit!

3. Ashley S.

Of course. I still don't understand her at all, but I love that about her! If she ends up with Dan I will so happy. And confused, but mostly happy.

4. Ashley I. (and Lauren)

Y'all. Can this whole season just be the Ashley and Lauren show? Because I cannot get enough of them! The dynamic between these two is awesome. I love all the Ashley tears (even though I really do totally feel bad for her), and guys, I really do hope she finds someone! It's kind of looking doubtful for her, based on all the clips of the season we've seen, but the poor girl deserves a man for heaven's sake! She is so beautiful, and so insecure, and I just want to give her a hug. Although I do have to say, I'm holding a bit of a grudge about the old lady comments, because I am DEFINITELY in the old lady category by her standards. But since she apologized (kind of) on the after show (which I will discuss in a bit), I guess I'll forgive. Seriously though, Ashley has become one of my all time favorites. Love her.

I'm not really digging any of the guys.....There's a few in there that I didn't even really recognize. And what is all the fuss about Jared?

I just don't see it. I mean, I like the guy. He's cool, he seems like really really nice guy, I understand that. But everyone keeps going on and on about how gorgeous he is, and I'm sorry, but I just don't see it. And Mikey? Well, he's probably not finding love in paradise, just saying. And what is the guys' obsession with Jade? Is it the Playboy thing? All the dudes seem a teensy bit obsessed with her. Hmm...

I also have to mention JJ, mostly because of this crazy prediction the hubs came up with.  It's a good one y'all! I'm not 100% sure I'm on board with it, but it could be true....Here ya go. You know those clips of Ashley I. later in the season asking for a fantasy suite date, and then Joe looking like he wants to knock JJ's teeth out? Hubs thinks Ashley I. is going to give it up to JJ., and then he's going to blow her off, which Joe will obviously think is pretty crappy, and want to hit him in the face. It's a theory guys! Like I said, not sure I'm on board, but it would be really juicy! I actually thought JJ seemed like a pretty decent guy for a minute at the end of Monday's episode when he had to be the one to send someone home, even though he pretty much screwed Jillian over. Who knows what will happen! Can't wait to see!

On to the after show. This is new....I do really like the after show idea. I think we can thank AMC for that trend right? They did it with Breaking Bad and Walking Dead. I love the idea of having celebrities that are fans of the show, as well as cast members. I have to be honest, I'm not sure about the co-host though. I follow her on twitter, and she's crazy funny, but I just didn't think she meshed well. She's a little mean, don't y'all think? On twitter it's one thing, and I admit I laugh, but it just made me cringe when she would say things in front of Ashley I. and Mikey. Chris Harrison doesn't need a co-host, he's amazing on his own. :) Maybe someone different would have left a better impression, I don't know. I would have loved to see a previous cast member as co-host if we have to have one. Michelle Money perhaps? I may be a little biased because she's my favorite, but I would have loved that scenario! Or maybe Jaclyn Swartz, although I'm pretty sure I spotted her in clips from this season...

Anyway, like I said, this post is all over the place. My thoughts were not very organized. Maybe I should have done a video instead. Oh well. I may or may not continue to share my thoughts on the greatness that is Bachelor in Paradise throughout the season, we'll just have to see how it goes. But I know I can't wait to watch! And I'd love to hear what y'all think! Also hey, follow me on twitter! I don't really go on much right now, but I'm thinking I want to, and I have like, no followers. Like, it's embarrassing how many followers I don't have. Stupid twitter. Follow me! :)

Bachelor Finale, Finally!

I'm always late with these posts, so by now everyone knows how the Bachelor ended this season, with Chris proposing to Whitney. And let's face it, no one was a bit surprised by this. We all saw it coming from a mile away. She's head over heels crazy about him, and he's just happy someone agreed to move to Arlington. I'm happy for them. They actually seem really happy and I feel like there's a chance they'll make it. I'll keep my fingers crossed for them. The proposal was sweet. I'm rooting for these two!

Before I get to recapping the finale, let's see if I was accurate in my predictions from night one......

My first impression of Carly was not good, and I ended up really liking her. I was right on with Britt. Early frontrunner that would make it pretty far, but not final four. I figured Kaitlyn would make it far, but not as far as she did. Apparently I also liked someone named Tracey. Anyone remember her, because I don't.....Two of my final four predictions were correct. Jade and Becca. The hubs had Megan on that list. Bummer she went home when she did. She was a hoot! Guess who else I picked! Go ahead, guess! Kelsey! Oh my gosh, how off was I? Yikes! She had me fooled y'all! That scares me a little bit. Actually, a lot. She scares me. Anyway, I did not mention Whitney at all after night one. So overall, I did not pick well. Better luck next season I suppose. You can check out my original post here. Moving on!

The final episode began with Whitney going to meet Chris' family. She totally nailed it. First of all, his family is great. I love them, and it looks like Whitney will fit right in. She's not shy about telling everyone who will listen how in love she is whit Farmer Chris. Tears were even shed. She is all in at you guys. The fam is totally won over, but is Chris at this point? It was a little strange that during Whitney's time with his family he talked about Becca on more than one occasion. His dad and brother in law totally noticed, too. Everyone can tell that she's the one he really wants.

Becca gets her turn to meet the fam day next, and Whitney was a tough act to follow considering how much they adored her. I thought Becca handled herself so well though. I particularly loved her convo with Chris' mom. She was so completely honest about her feelings, and the fact that she's not totally ready to leave everything behind. Once she know she's in love she'll be in 100%, but she's not there yet.

After family time, each girl gets here final one on one date with Chris, and Becca goes first. They just hang out in the hotel room and talk, but it's a conversation that needed to happen. Chris was super confused on where they stood, and frankly, Becca was too. I really felt for both of them. He wanted so bad for her to tell him she was in love with him and ready to move to Arlington to start a family with him, but she couldn't do it. I want to mention that Becca may be one of my new favorite Bachelor contestants. I'm guessing everyone that watches this show has a ton of respect for this girl. I mean, props to her for being smart and practical, and realistic about the situation. She's only known this guy for how long? Of course she's not ready to pack up her life to move for him, especially when she's not even sure she loves him. Chris seemed totally shocked by this by the way. Like, he just couldn't understand how she wasn't nuts for him. I felt bad for Chris watching the episode though. It was so obvious that Becca was the one he really wanted. Not that I don't think he can be happy with Whitney, but I feel like Becca will always be the one that got away.

Whitney's date is next. They go to the farm to harvest corn, and she really looks like she's having a blast and loving it. I think these two are a good match! Again, that night she tells Chris how strong her feelings are for him, and how much she loves him and wants to start a life on the farm with him. She's a sure thing. Becca's a risk.

Rose ceremony time! We all knew Becca wasn't going to get the final rose, but her reaction to being rejected was kind of priceless. Did anyone else see complete relief on her face? No tears, in fact, they smiled and laughed together. Best breakup ever. I think Becca dodged an Arlington bullet. Pretty uneventful.

Whitney was so confident this whole time, but once she got to the barn she looked a little shaky and uncertain. No, wait, she's just FREAKING FREEZING! I was cold just watching them! Yikes! Chris can finally admit that he's in love with Whitney and he sweetly proposes. Of course she says yes, and they're super cute together, so I hope it lasts.

All in all, a pretty uneventful finale. No surprises, not a lot of drama, just kind of...eh. I did enjoy it though. I always do. Do you think Chris chose the right girl?

Bachelor Recap: A New Record for Crazy

I have not been recapping the Bachelor this season, other than the premiere. Not that it hasn't been entertaining, I just haven't been into writing about it. But then last night happened. What? Seriously, what did I watch? I am so confused, and uncomfortable, and just.....what? I can't not mention the insanity that was on my television.

This is the face of a sociopath. Be afraid.

I'm not going to try to cover everything that went on - you'll have to watch for yourself for all the details, if you haven't already. But be prepared! There's weird, sexual breathing with Carly, people aren't showering, Megan doesn't know what country they're in, Jordan shows up and wants a second chance, oh, and Kelsey is stab you in your sleep crazy. No biggie. Sorry this post is a day late, but I needed time to process what I watched and try to make some sense of it. That didn't happen, so here goes...

The episode was bonkers from the very beginning. Chris and Carly's one on one date with the "love guru" was about the most awkward and uncomfortable I have been watching TV in as long as I can remember. Why in the world would anyone do this on a first date? Oh my gosh! I just can't....Poor Carly.

The group date was pretty uneventful, as was Britt's one on one. Unless you count Jordan's reappearance or the revelation that Britt doesn't shower, which was kind of hilarious. All I could think about on their date was, "does she smell?". I also judged her a little bit for wearing her makeup to bed, but then I thought about it, and I admit, I might do the same if I was on camera constantly. Just saying.

So, here's where the crazy REALLY started to kick in. Kelsey sneaks over to Chris' suite to tell him her story, which is seriously, so so tragic. I have felt so sad for her this whole time, and hubs and I both liked her in the beginning.  Last week her true colors started to come out on the camping date, but who knew how psycho she actually was? She tells Chris about her late husband in the most scripted way ever, like she's giving a monologue, and shows no genuine emotion about it. It was really weird y'all. Like, really. Then there she is smiling to the camera saying how much she loves her sob story, and isn't it amazing? "I love my story!" Really, psycho?

So smug.

Then they make out. Which seems a little one sided to me. It totally looked like Chris was going in for the polite cheek kiss, but Krazy Kelsey wasn't about to miss her opportunity. She thinks she's got this locked down now, because no "nice guy" would find out her terrible back story AND make out with her just to send her home, right? We'll see....

Sympathy make-out sesh.

So at this point  I am so confused and totally weirded out, but it gets worse you guys. Cut to what is supposed to be the cocktail party, but ends up not, because Chris is kind of freaking out. Probably because he was going to send Kelsey home, but now he's afraid to because she may poison his drink or something. Kelsey goes from super confident to apparently scared she's not going to get a rose, so she wanders off camera and has some sort of weird pseudo-panic attack. Really weird. And by weird I mean totally fake so she can get more camera time and also hopefully a sympathy rose from Chris. She's not as good of an actress as Tierra was on her season. Not nearly as much sparkle. Stranger noises though.

Really? Is anyone buying this?

Notice how NONE of the other girls go to check on her? Interesting. I think they're scared of her too. I would be.

Not impressed.

Sidenote - I have to mention that Ashley and Mackenzie are actually jealous that their stories aren't as tragic as Kelsey's. Um...gross. And sad. And Sorry Ashley, but being a virgin doesn't count as a sad story. When did this turn into a competition for who has the most tragic back story?

So, the episode ends with a "To Be Continued", and I absolutely cannot wait until next week to see how this all plays out! But seriously, what has happened to this show y'all?

If you didn't see the episode, there's no way that I can sum it up in a way that would accurately portray the crazy.  Just watch. Please, please watch. And tell me your thoughts.

Bachelor Premiere: My Predictions

The new season of the Bachelor is upon us! I love this time of year! I did enjoy Andi's season of the Bachelorette, but I'm excited for this season of the Bachelor, partly because we all still need to stop talking about Juan Pablo, but also, Chris is adorable, so here's hoping for some entertaining Monday evenings to come! I'm not going to recap the entire episode, but I do have a few thoughts to share, and then I'll give you my predictions.

First off, I need to mention Chris Harrison's interview with Nikki during the red carpet portion of the premiere. Cringeworthy. It was actually quite painful to watch. I guess he had some time to fill and needed to stretch things out, but Oh. My. Gosh. How many times can you ask the same question, and how many different ways can she answer? Give the girl a break! I'm sure she's so over talking about Juan Pablo, and this was just so ridiculous. Stop it. Moving on though.....

The limo arrivals weren't actually as bad as I've seen in the past. The cruise ship singer was awful, and the fake heart in a cooler was gross, but I liked the note from students that Tracy read, and Britt was cute. The dresses this season y'all were atrocious! So so bad. Like really. Ew. I hope these girls step up their game on the fashion front in the coming episodes!

So, on to the girls. One of my favorites of the night was Tara, obviously. The drunk girl on night one is always the best, and she was hilarious. It's also hilarious that she still got a rose. Of course she wasn't the only crazy in the bunch. Amanda's eyes were freaking me out. But let's talk about the onion girl. I don't even remember her name, but holy cow. What was that? I don't know if she was drunk, or acting, or just totally weird, but she got a rose too! And I am totally looking forward to more cookoo from her this season!

I have a couple of front runners to mention, and I've got to throw in the hubs predictions as well, because y'all, he's never wrong! Yes, I make him watch with me, but he secretly likes it. :) Britt is an obvious choice. She's drop dead gorgeous, and she got the first impression rose. I don't think she's top four though. Chris and Jade seem to have chemistry too. The hubs thinks Megan is a sleeper and will make it to the end. I hope Kaityln sticks around for a long time, because she is too funny, and my number one favorite from last night. So here are our predictions for top four:

Becca
My choice for Chris's final pick.
Kelsey
We both like her for the final four
Jade
We both thought it looked like she had chemistry with Chris.
Megan
Hubbies pick.

Jade, Kelsey, Megan, and Becca, with Britt and Kaitlyn close behind. Oh wait, I forgot about Tracy! Honorable mention to her as well!

Britt

Kaitlyn

Tracy

I'm not very good at picking the winner, but Eric is, so we'll see how we do this season! Hopefully Chris finds a good girl. He seems like a sweet, genuine guy. Can't wait to see what drama unfolds this season!

Tell me your favorite moments from last night's premiere and your picks for Chris's final four!

xo,
Summer

Bachelor Finale.....Adios Juan Pabs!

I have never been excited for a TV show to come to an end, but this season of the Bachelor was actually painful to watch. I started off being excited Juan Pablo was the new Bachelor, and excited to do these recaps every week, as I had never done that before. But writing these posts has gotten kind of tedious. Juan Pablo has definitely overstayed his welcome on my television screen. And instead of going out on a high note and making us almost forget how totally awful this season was, he did the complete opposite and displayed his worst behavior to date, making us seriously dislike him, if we didn't already. Here's my take on last night's finale. Thank goodness it's over.

So Clare and Nikki each get their meet the family moment, and it seemed to go about the same for them both. They pretty much were told to run. As fast as they can. Even Juan Pablo's family doesn't really like him all that much it turns out. Or maybe they just know he's not really on this show for the right reasons, and neither of these girls is going to end up with him in the long run. JP's mom actually says that he can be rude, and Clare doesn't get scared off by that. No, she licks her lips and says she loves that about him. Then JP's cousin asks Nikki how much fighting she can handle, because Juan Pablo can be difficult, and she seems to think that's sweet, and I am so confused. What in the world is wrong with these girls? Open your eyes ladies! This dude's own family is trying to warn you that your boyfriend is bad news, and you're like, "Aw, how cute!". I mean really. These are some serious red flags ladies!

Next is the final one on one dates, and Clare goes first. While they're on their helicopter ride he apparently whispers something to her that is totally disrespectful. She is completely shocked, because it was something sexual. She seems really upset, and I feel really bad for her. And also, this is the most real I've seen her all season. Anyway, I don't blame her for being upset. Telling a girl you don't know her at all, but you loved "hooking up" with her is not cool. And by now we all know he didn't say "hooking up", but I'm not going to repeat what was actually said, because EW. BUT, Clare did go swimming with him in the ocean in Vietnam, and by now we all now what swimming is code for right? NOT that I'm defending JP mind you. Absolutely not. What he said was incredibly disgusting and I would be livid if someone said that to me. Clare got over it pretty quickly though. All he had to do was put on the charm and she was putty in his hands again. Gross.

Nikki's date was less controversial. Not all that exciting actually. After the excitement with Clare none of us were all that interested in poor Nikki. Oh well. I do want to mention how much I love Juan Pablo's dad though. He is the sweetest! I guess the apple fell a little too far from the tree in this case.....

Time for the final rose ceremony. Again, Clare is up first. She starts in on this monologue about how she's fallen in love with him, and he just lets her talk! Why Juan Pablo? Why let her get all of that out just so you can tell her you have to let her go? And woah, Clare is NOT happy. JP tries to give her a goodbye hug but she is having none of it. She tells him off completely, and I kind of love her for it, because he was a total jerk. That being said, she did sign up to go on a show called the Bachelor, and compete with 25 women for just 1 man, so the odds weren't really in her favor. I hate when girls get mad at the end when they don't get picked. Have they never watched the show?

Nikki's next, and she's so excited and expecting a proposal (and wearing a dress with a super scandalous slit), and the fairytale romantic ending we've come to expect from Bachelor finales........does NOT happen! This was the most awkward finale I've ever seen. He tells her he has a ring in his pocket, but isn't going to use it because he's not 100% sure he wants to marry her, but he likes her a lot. Huh? I do applaud Juan Pablo for not proposing just for TV's sake, but I like you a lot? You couldn't do better than that buddy? Poor Nikki looks so disappointed, but of course ends up accepting his rose, and we're supposed to believe they're going to have their happily ever after. Wrong. This is all just so wrong. I mean, like I said earlier, painful to watch.  But then we have After The Final Rose to get answers to all our questions, right?

Wrong! Believe it or not, things got even weirder! I don't even know how to sum up the ATFR for you, because I really didn't understand what in the world I was watching. Clare came out in the beginning, and I respect her for not wanting to talk to Juan Pablo. She got the closure she needed apparently, and as much as I (and most of you too) disliked her this season, she almost won me over. Maybe if she wasn't constantly licking her lips it would be easier to like her, I don't know.

Nikki comes out and says she's still in love with JP, but when Chris Harrison asks her if she thinks JP loves her back, she can't answer the question, and strangely doesn't seem to mind. Hmm. Then Juan Pablo joins her onstage, and the real crazy begins. Chris asks JP himself if he loves Nikki, and he flat refuses to answer the question. He just talks in circles like he always does, and Nikki sits there cuddled up next to him and smiles, and it's just WEIRD. Let me also say, that I love Chris Harrison even more than I did before if that was possible. He handled the crazy very well, and was hilarious. You could so tell that JP was just over the show and being on TV and wanted no part of it anymore. But guess what? You knew what you were signing up for, so don't be mad now that you came off like a total douche.

Thank goodness this season is over. Worst Bachelor ever. Time to move on to the Bachelorette. I'm very excited that it's Andi, because she was definitely my favorite, as I've said in previous posts. And hey, no matter what she does she'll be better than Juan Pablo! Adios!
