Bachelor Season 21 Episode 2

I'm really wanting to give Nick a chance as the Bachelor. Like I said last week (read my top picks here), I liked him a lot on Bachelor in Paradise-he kind of redeemed himself in my eyes. I realize we're only 2 episodes into this season, but I have to say so far I'm so not digging him. I mean, Nick, could you possibly seem less interested? He just looks so bored all the time! Except of course when Corinne is taking clothing off or making out with him. This is not helping with your image Nick. And speaking of our villain Corinne-Within the first two minutes of this week's episode I was already super annoyed by the girl, who is so ridiculous I'm not sure I can continue to watch her.

In case you missed this episode, it started out with a date card that said "Always a bridesmaid....". The girls going on the date were Corinne, Vanessa, Sarah, Alexis, Hailey, Lacey, Brittany, Jasmine, Raven, Danielle L., Taylor, and Elizabeth W. Not hard to guess that they were going on some sort of bridal themed photo shoot. They drive off in convertibles, and I just have to mention something. They ALL have their hair down, and NONE of them have a hair elastic. What is the deal with that? I know I'm not the only person to notice this. It happens every season, where they're in a car, or it's super windy, or they're at the beach, and every season it drives me crazy.  Are they not ALLOWED to have hair ties? Did they just forget? I'm so confused. If anyone can explain this to me please do, because it totally drives me bananas.

Back to the date,,,,The girls get different themed wedding or bridesmaids dresses, and whoever has the best chemistry with Nick at the end of the day gets extra time with him or something. Once they all start with their individual shoots I realized I do not remember half of these girls from night one. Provably not a good sign of their longevity on the show.

A few  highlights of the date:

1. Vanessa in her 80's dress totally looked like the dude from the Wedding Singer, right?

2. Corinne's face when Taylor and Nick started kissing.

3. Corinne's face when she realized she did not have the sexiest outfit and therefore was not the center of attention for a few minutes. Priceless.

4. Everyone else's faces when they see Corinne take her top off in the pool. I had the same reaction they did.

Corinne was fuming when Brittany and Nick did their Adam and Eve themed wedding (weird?).
She seriously could not handle it, and was like, OK, I'll just get naked too.
Her parents must be so proud. Here's the thing though- Her antics worked!!! She won and got to have another photo shoot with Nick. Ugh.

For the evening portion of the date they go for cocktails on a rooftop somewhere (of course), and it's no surprise that Corinne is the first to grab Nick for some one-on-one time. Then she decides that wasn't enough time and interrupts Alexis. Not a popular move, but not uncommon. But then later she decides she needs even MORE time, and interrupts Taylor's time. Taylor wasn't having any of that though, and went and cut in on them to get her time back. This is where I just about lost it. Corinne is super mad. She just cannot fathom what just happened. Her actual words were "I interrupted Taylor, then she came and RE-interrupted me." Oh my gosh, does she hear herself? Then she starts referring to herself in third person which I CANNOT STAND. Anyway, it gets really awkward when she goes to rejoin the rest of the girls, and then Nick goes and makes it worse and gives the date's rose to who? CORINNE!!!!! What? I thought it would be Raven based on their on-on-one time. Nick, get it together. This is not OK. Needless to say, the girls were not pleased. To quote Raven, "If Nick likes someone who is leading with their sexuality it's no wonder this is his 4th time". So true. Nick, I am expecting more from you next week.

While all this mess is happening, back at the mansion Liz is annoying me almost (but not quite) as much as Corinne. We get it, you hooked up with Nick already. Let it go. But she had to tell someone about it, so poor Christen had to hear the details over and over again. Also, a date card came for Danielle M. (my fav!) that said "Our relationship is about to take off."

Nick and Danielle's date brings us the first helicopter ride of the season. They spend the day on a yacht, and then later have dinner. I have to admit, halfway through their dinner I was thinking how boring they were together and wasn't optimistic. But Danielle opened up and told Nick about her fiance's passing, and it was super sad, but it did seem to connect them a little. She gets a rose, and they make out on a Ferris wheel. Not all that eventful.

The final group date card arrives at the house and it's for Christen, Josephine, Astrid, Jaimi, Kristina, and Liz. It says "We need to talk...". They go to the Museum of Broken Relationships, which is apparently a place that actually exists, full of weird mementos from people's past relationships. They learn they will be acting out a public breakup scene in front of an audience. Everyone has fun with it and some of them are pretty cute and funny. But then it's Liz's turn.

She gets up and starts telling the actual story of how she and Nick met, reading from notes she wrote down. It's super weird and awkward, and Nick looks CRAZY uncomfortable, and I feel pretty bad for him. At this point none of the other girls have any idea that what Liz is saying all happened in real life, and look way confused. Except, of course, for Christen, who knows everything and was shocked.

Later that night Nick is all paranoid that the girls know his history with Liz and will be upset, but after talking to some of them he starts to relax. Until he has one-on-one time with Christen and finds out Liz has blabbed. He calls Liz out and ends up sending her home, which I think was definitely the way to go. I was super sick of that storyline. I think he should have sent her home night one personally, but I think he was trying to be nice. After she leaves he decides that his best course of action is to be up front and tell the girls everything, and of course it all looks super dramatic and we are left on a cliffhanger wondering how the girls are going to react.

Guess we'll have to wait until next week to see how everything plays out. What are your thoughts on episode 2? Who do you want to get a rose, and who do you want to get sent packing?

The Walking Dead, Season 6, Episode 3, Thank You

So now that 24 hours has passed since last night's episode of The Walking Dead, I think I'm ready to talk about it. I'm still pretty torn up, and it's obviously still on my mind, so I decided to write about it. I don't normally blog about TV shows, with the exception of the Bachelor franchise, which has kind of been boring me in recent seasons. The Walking Dead, however, affects me sometimes for days after I watch an episode, and I find myself still talking about it, so why not blog about it? I'm not sure if I'll continue to do it, or if this is a one time post, we'll just have to see how the season goes, but I just HAVE to talk about last night! In fact, it was hard to put all my feelings in writing, so here's a little video too.

If you haven't watched the episode yet, you probably shouldn't read this post.

Spoilers ahead!!!!!

Ok, now that I've covered that base, we can move on. First off, I have NEVER been so emotionally invested in a television show. EVER. This damn show has made me cry way more than a zombie show should make me cry. And I am SOOO not that person that yells at the screen when I'm watching something. But that's what this show has done to me. I'm completely obsessed, and slightly embarrassed about it. Back to last night.

I'm not going to recap the entire show. I just want to give y'all my thoughts on some specifics. Such as.... HOW IN THE HECK COULD THEY KILL OFF GLENN!????!!! That was the worst character death so far in my opinion. The worst. I was so nervous that he was going to get killed off with all the action that was happening, but for some reason when he actually fell off that dumpster I was NOT prepared for it. Took me totally by surprise, And I totally had a jump off the couch and yell at the TV moment. It was rough y'all. Nicholas I was totally OK with losing, but did he have to be the reason Glenn died too? Ugh. I just can't guys. Really. It's too much. Herschel was a really hard loss, and so was Beth, but this one. Too much.

And then to put us through that scene without any fanfare, just to move on to Rick being in a TERRIBLE situation, it's like they're trying to give me a heart attack or something. Rick HAS to be OK, whether he ends up with both hands or just one (comic book reference).

So now that I've gotten that off my chest, here's my hypothesis:

GLENN IS NOT DEAD!!!

Here is my supporting evidence:

1. References to season one. Glenn called Rick a dumb ass over the walkie, just like he did in the first season. LOVED that reference by the way. We fell in love with Glenn as a character from the very first time we met him on the series, and it was that exchange that did it.

2. When Glenn and Nicholas fell off of the dumpster, Nicholas fell on TOP of Glenn. So it is entirely possible that when we saw the walkers tearing someone apart, it was not Glenn, but Nicholas. (TOTALLY possible, and this is what I'm choosing to believe)

3. If you continue to look back at season 1, you remember when they camouflaged themselves from the walkers by covering themselves in blood and guts. It was super gross, but it worked. So if in fact Nicholas' body is shielding Glenn from getting eaten, he would be completely covered in grossness, therefore, not noticeable to the walkers. This is totally possible too, right?

4. Steven Yeun did not make an appearance on Talking Dead. I can't remember another major character dying and not being a guest on that show. Hmm.....very interesting.

5. Glenn was also not mentioned on the In Memoriam segment on Talking Dead. Very interesting indeed....

6. Showrunner Scott Gimple made a statement saying that we would indeed be seeing Glenn in some way in the future. You can check out the details of that here. Could be in a flashback I suppose, or maybe Glenn as a walker, or maybe HE'S ALIVE Y'ALL!

Can we all just pretend like we know he's coming back, because otherwise it's just too sad. And poor Maggie!

Anyway, I realize this post is kind of all over the place. I did not plan it out at all. I just started writing and this is what came out. I apologize. I know I'm rambling and probably not making any sense. Please tell me your thoughts on this season of The Walking Dead so far! I hope I'm not the only totally crazy obsessed one out there!

Bachelor in Paradise Week 2: My Thoughts

Ashley S. and Dan, Jade and Tanner, Kirk and Carly
Oh Bachelor in Paradise, you just get more and more entertaining! Thank you for bringing the drama - I can't get enough! If you want to hear my highlights from last week go here. Basically this week Ashley I. cried - a lot.

Also, Mikey is delusional, everyone wants to date Tenley, and Joe's an ass. Oh, and Carly is still my favorite. Now you're all caught up! But really, what did y'all think about this week's episodes? I'd love to hear your thoughts! Here's a few of mine, in no particular order...

1. First of all, I am glad Lauren left. Too many tears, and she was bringing her sister down. Then we find out she's apparently someone's mistress? What? OK, so she never should have come on the show. It obviously wasn't a good fit, and apparently she's perfectly fine being the other woman. Go home.

2. Second, why was everyone so excited for Joe to show up? I don't get it. I guess he's supposed to be funny? I didn't see it on the Bachelorette, and I certainly don't see it on Bachelor in Paradise. Looks like I'm not the only one, too! Here's everyone's reaction to Joe's complete awkwardness when he shows up.

So uncomfortable.....
Then he offends Clare after he's been there for like, 5 minutes. Way to go buddy. Then he (kind of?) asks Juelia on his date....To be fair, she kind of volunteers. But it's still weird. It's clear on their date he's not into her, but he's totally leading her on so he can get her rose later, and hopefully meet some other chick he's hoping will show up. Gross Joe. Really not cool. And I have more to say on that subject in a bit.

3. Ashley I. peeing in the ocean was freaking hilarious. So great. But no, I will not post a picture of this. Because ew.

4. Jared asks Clare on a date, and poor Ashley I. melts down again. Again, I just want to hug her. So sad, Mikey's not happy about this situation either. He keeps talking about feeling betrayed and being blindsided. Last week Clare was pretty clear that she wanted to explore and see what else was out there, and it was obvious to everyone (except him) that she was not interested.  I don't know what Mikey heard when she said that, but he is very confused. Get over if Mikey. Anyway,  I definitely don't see Clare and Jared together.

5. EVERYBODY wants to date Tenley! Seriously y'all, what in the world is this girl doing that's just hypnotizing all the guys? It's so funny to watch! Good for her though! I hope she finds someone. But really, she's got JJ, Josh, and Michael all interested in her. I personally saw her with Michael over the other two, but what do I know? Apparently she was more into Josh. She made out with all three of them though! Wonder if Michael or JJ will get a rose from someone else or it this is their last hurrah in paradise? We shall see...
Tenley Sandwich, Michael and Tenley

6. Jared ends up dumping Clare because she's too old for him, and kisses Ashley I. before the rose ceremony! I was so happy! Finally, she gets her guy! I hope it lasts (for a few weeks anyway), and he's not just pulling a Joe and locking down a rose.

7. Back to Joe. Like I said last week, if you're reading this you no doubt already watched the show, so you know what went down and I won't rehash all the details completely. But Joe.....wow. What a totally ass. I'm seriously appaled at how horrible this guy is. He's totally playing Juelia, and what guy does that to a single mom? Gross. Jonathan tried to be a good guy and let her know what was up, and what does he get in return? Man tears. Big time man tears. So not only is Joe playing Juelia, he uses his friendship with Jonathan to manipulate him, and MAKES HIM CRY! Then he's making violent threats, Joe just needs to go. It's really hard to watch him flat out lie over and over. He's terrible. And did I mention gross? Gross.
Gross.
8. I almost forgot to mention Clare's little meltdown at the end of the show. Get over it Clare. What was she even talking about? It made no sense to me. But I had pretty much forgotten Jade was still in paradise, so it nice to see her speak up and remind us of her presence! Did you see her tweet (you can see it here) about being an introvert on a show full of extroverts? I can totally relate Jade! You know, except for the part about being on TV.

Last night ended with a cliffhanger, and we didn't get to see who all the girls gave their roses to. Can't wait until next week!

xo, Summer

P.S. LOVED Asley S. on the after show, and Jonathan seems like such a sweet guy!  Tell me how you're liking Bachelor in Paradise so far!

Bachelor Week 5: Vietnam

I didn't post anything from last week's Seoul episode, because there really wasn't anything to say. I guess to sum it up, Kat and Clare annoyed me, Sharleen was awkward, and Kelly cracked me up. That's about it. Moving on to this week in Vietnam....

Vietnam is , like "nature" y'all. It's like water, and stuff. I can't even remember who said that. Oh well. It made me laugh. Anyway, the first one on one date goes to Rene, and it was extremely uneventful. So boring. And all I could think about the whole time was how hot and sweaty they looked and how that is SO not romantic. Being stinky on a first date is not cute, and couldn't they have gone to a restaurant with air conditioning for dinner? Rene didn't care. She REALLY wanted to kiss Juan Pablo, stink and all. Like, REALLY wanted a kiss. I got sick of hearing about it. But JP made up another random rule and decided it would be disrespectful or some other excuse and wouldn't do it. At this point he's pretty much made out with everyone right? So wanting to "take it slow" is pretty much the kiss of death, right? I really like Rene, but I just don't see this couple working out. Even though as JP put it, they're both 32, they're both parents, it's like their destined to be together! So she gets a rose. Sheesh. I give her 2 more weeks, tops.

The group date would have been just as boring, but Kelly was on it, so I didn't mind it. Love her. Clare apparently has no friends (Kelly's words, not mine), so ended up sharing this weird boat looking thing with Juan Pablo, and then they kissed in front of all the other girls. I guess last weeks kissing rule has been revoked? I'm so confused. But all the girls are upset that JP is spending so much of the group date with Clare, and who wouldn't be? He takes her back to his suite while the rest of them are just sitting there waiting? Rude. I guess he felt bad because then he made it up to them by making out with Sharleen (who wants to be a panda) and Andi. Clare gets the rose, and I'm super annoyed by her. Again. Ugh. I was rooting for Andi to get it. Oh well.

Now we get to the good stuff. After the date is over Clare decides to pull a Courtney Robertson and sneak off to Juan Pablo's room in the middle of the night. She apparently has never gone swimming in a warm ocean before and just HAS to mark it off of her bucket list this very night. We all know what "swimming" in the ocean really means, right?  JP was up for it. Gross. Way to whore it up on television Clare. Guess she forgot the cameras were there?

Nikki gets the second one on one, and it was actually a pretty cool date I thought. Rappelling into a cave would be little scary, but not as awful as bungee jumping off a bridge, and way more fun. Of course there was more kissing. Again, what happened to last week's rules? Whatever Juan Pabs. At dinner it felt like Nikki was trying to sell herself in a job interview. She seriously never stopped talking. But it worked, and she got a rose.

Finally at the cocktail party the drama I was waiting for kicked in! After finally kissing Rene, which she was SUPER excited about, because she REALLY wanted to kiss him, in case you forgot, JP decided to tell Clare their romp in the ocean was a mistake. Whoa, She is seriously pissed. He says something about wanting to set a better example for Camilla, and Clare looks totally shocked, like she forgot he had a daughter at home. Maybe you're not quite ready to be a step mom if what is basically a one night stand on national television for anyone to see seems appropriate for a parent. Just saying. But really, all snark aside, I feel bad for Clare. We should all go easy on her. She made a bad decision, and JP put it ALL on her. It takes two to tango buddy. It's kind of like he cheated on, like 10 girls. Whoever he ends up picking, if it's not Clare, is going to love finding out about this!

Somehow the rest of the girls have absolutely no idea what is going on, and it is the most awkward thing ever. Alli, Danni, and Kelly end up going home at the rose ceremony. Kelly? NOOOoooooo! Not Kelly! Last week she solidified her spot as my favorite of the season, she can't be gone already! There goes the comic relief. Unless you count watching Juan Pablo kiss Sharleen (panda?), but that's more gross than funny. And by the way, why was this such a super emotional rose ceremony so early in the season? Was it me, or was like, everyone crying last night? Weird. Overall, much more entertaining episode than last week.

Looking forward to the potential New Zealand drama in the next episode. Will Sharleen leave? Or Clare? And I'm pretty sure he's made out with everyone that's still around at this point. Anyway, I've liked Andi from the beginning, and now that Kelly is gone, she my new fav. Go Andi! Nikki's my number 2. And I'm so over Juan Pablo. That is all.
